This may be TMI, but how often do you wash your bra?
A recent article turned confession on Fusion.com revealed that some women can go quite awhile without washing the article of clothing closest to our hearts.
Finding a good bra that fits just right is a huge challenge, and many women feel that washing a bra too much will ruin everything they love about it. But, did you know that skipping a few washes could be opening you up to nasty bacteria and infections?
Staphylococcus and streptococci are just two types of bacteria that can develop and cause an issue should you have any open wounds near that area and you put on a dirty, unwashed bra.
Philip Tierno, professor of microbiology at New York University weighed in on the topic giving a standard rule of thumb.
“A bra should receive the same treatment as any other underwear. It should be washed daily or at least every other day.”
Well, there we have it.
