Traditions are overrated—at least that’s what Zoe Saldana and her boo Marco are saying.
In her InStyle cover story, the actress revealed that her hubby took her last name. Marco Perego is no more; he is now Marco Saldana… and proud of it.
“I tried to talk him out of it,” Zoe said to the magazine. “If you use my name, you’re going to be emasculated by your community of artists, by your Latin community of men, by the world,” to which Marco said, “Ah, Zoe, I don’t give a s–t.” Talk about feminism!
Of course, Marco’s move wasn’t traditional, but what are your thoughts on changing your own name after tying the knot? Did you (or will you!) proudly take your spouse’s name, or are you keeping yours? What are your thoughts on hyphenating? Take our poll and tell us which route you think is ideal.
