You hear about people dealing with the stresses of growing up in their sibling’s shadow, but what about those who feel intimidated by their parents? For Zoe Kravitz, the situation was just that, specifically when it came to her looks.
The 26-year-old daughter of Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz recently opened up to Complex Magazine about her body image issues and her struggles with eating disorders.
The actress admitted that many of her insecurities stemmed from growing up surrounded by the glitz of fame. But she also admitted that some of her insecurities started at home.
“My mother’s a beautiful woman,” she said, “and I think, in some way, I felt intimidated by that sometimes.”
And Zoe’s not alone in her struggle. Oftentimes, you hear of women who was raised by a glamorous mother, and though their daughters loved them, they sometimes felt pressured to be a mirror image of their mama.
