Is TV still family friendly?
According to The Grio, many faithful viewers of ‘Family Feud’ are asking themselves that question following increased sexually charged questions and answers appearing on the show.
This week, host Steve Havery asked contestants to “name the first part of a woman you touch to get her in the mood.” Even Harvey was shocked when the contestant answered “Um, that would be the lower front or the vagina.”
This comes after a previous episode where contestants were asked what was “the last thing you stuck your finger in,” and one man replied, “my wife.”
Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture of the Media Research Center says the explicit banter is just a sign of the times and reflects more explicit content being accepted in general entertainment.
“I think what has changed is that Hollywood has so undermined and coarsened our culture, that these answers have become the norm,” Gainor said. “Sex acts that many Americans had never even heard of are now typical dialogue.”
