The Senate approved a budget bill late last week that would repeal Obamacare and defund Planned Parenthood.
According to the Huffington Post, the chamber debated a GOP bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act which included a clause that would eliminate funding for the reproductive health care provider.
Two individual amendments would have omitted the language that ultimately stops funding for Planned Parenthood but both amendments were voted against.
President Obama has already threatened to veto the bill. However, political analysts say the move was made in part to send a message to voters that electing a GOP president next year and keeping them in charge of congress will mark the end of Obamacare.
In recent months, Planned Parenthood, women’s health and specifically, abortion rights have been hot button topics, with both liberal and conservative parties making their stance very clear.
We want to know where you stand. Do you reject the Senate’s decision to stop planned Parenthood funding or are you in support of it? Let us know your thoughts below.
