President Obama delivered his last State of the Union address last night and it has everyone talking.
During an appearance on Fox News, Tavis Smiley became one of the many people to share his opinion on President Obama saying that he hasn’t been good for the Black community, reports NewsOne.
When asked if we are better off today than seven years ago when it comes to race, Smiley responded, “I’m not sure we are and I think ultimately the president missed a moment… On every leading economic issue, in the leading economic issues Black Americans have lost ground in every one of those leading categories. So in the last ten years it hasn’t been good for black folk. This is the president’s most loyal constituency that didn’t gain any ground in that period.”
How do you feel about his comments? Is there some truth in what he said or did he completely miss the mark? Do you think the Black community has gained some ground during President Obama’s time in office?
