As the race for Presidency of the United States begins to heat up, presidential debates are now in full swing.

Last night during the first 2016 Fox News debate, GOP candidates went toe to toe to solidify their platform and let America know what they’re about.

From criticism of Obamacare to abortion rights, there was plenty of ground covered as 10 republican candidates including, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Donald Trump, went head to head.

During President Obama’s run for office America saw some of it’s most widely watched presidential debates in decades including a 2012 debate that reached more than 67 million viewers.

Although it’s clear that America is tuning in to see candidates battle it out, do presidential debates actually factor in when casting your vote?
