It seems like performers and some audience members have their signals crossed when it comes to smart phone usage during events.
According to the New York Times, actress Patti LuPone had enough Wednesday night when an audience member was seen texting throughout her performance of “Shows for Days.” Instead of griping about it backstage, Patti decided to take things into her own hands, literally. LuPone made her way to the audience and without breaking character, took the phone away from the woman in question.
This incident comes on the heels of Kevin Hart’s ESSENCE Festival performance where the comedian enforced a strict no-cellphone policy during his show because he was taping his next stand-up comedy film, “What Now?”
When you go to public events how do you deal with phone usage? Do you use your smart phone no matter what, or do you wait until later? Let us know!
