Davido, a five-time Grammy nominee for Best Afrobeats Performance, arrived on the Grammys 2026 red carpet filled with gratitude. “Celebrating this nomination with my team is already a win, so I’m going into the night with joy and appreciation,” Davido explains to ESSENCE post ceremony.
Tying everything together was his Who Decides War look. The Afrobeats superstar collaborated with design duo Ev Bravado and Tela D’Amore on a bespoke, double-breasted tuxedo with 1970s-inspired tailoring. “I have always loved how suits were constructed in that era. There was a real sense of structure and intention,” he says. Additionally, the ensemble featured the brand’s signature stained-glass window motif on the lapels and cuffs. What made it even more special? “I believe deeply in rising by lifting others,” Davido explains. “So, wearing brands like Who Decides War on a night as big as the Grammys is important to me and to the culture.”
Aside from rocking a confidence-boosting suit, music is essential to Davido when it comes to setting the tone before major moments. Further channeling the funk and soul of the era, to keep him grounded ahead of the big night, naturally, Michael Jackson was on repeat.
To finish the look, Davido stuck to a trusted three-step grooming routine: a gentle cleanser, a lightweight hydrating product, and Topicals eye patches for a refreshed, rejuvenated finish. A long hot shower is essential as well—followed by shea butter sourced from back home in Nigeria. For fragrance, he opted for a layered approach. He started with Maison Crivelli Oud Maracujá as a base and finished with Bond No. 9 for added depth. “I trust my nose, my wife loves it, and that is always the final approval,” he says.
