Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, R&B and soul singer Eric Benet launched his solo career with the 1996 album “True to Myself.”
His 1999 duet with Tamia “Spend My Life With You” from his sophomore project “A Day in the Life” spent three weeks at number one on the “Billboard” Hot R&B/Hp Hop Songs chart, earned him a Grammy nomination and solidified Benet’s spot in music history.
Benet met actress Halle Berry in 1997 and the two wed in early 2001. Berry adopted Benet’s daughter India but the two split in 2004. Their divorce was finalized in 2005.
Benet has dabbled in film for some time, making his on screen debut in “Glitter” with Mariah Carey in 2001. He has also appeared on “Half and Half” and the MTV show “Kaya.”
In 2005, Benet released his third studio album “Hurricane,” which included the song “I Wanna Be Loved.”
Benet dropped his fourth album “Love & Life” in September 2008. His lead single “You’re The Only One” reached number one on the Hot Adult R&B Songs chart and landed in the top twenty list of R&B/Hip Hip Songs.
On August 7, 2008 Benet performed for a special show called ‘The Experience With Eric Benet’ at the DuSable Museum in Chicago.
In 2009 Eric Benet, received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. He shared the red carpet with his daughter India and girlfriend Manuela Testolini.
In 2009 we saw Eric Benet popping up every where. He attended the 19th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards with girlfriend turned wife Manuela Testolini.
With his fifth studio album, “Lost in Time” Benet released his lead single “Sometimes I Cry.”
Eric’s got that something special — we don’t know if it’s the voice, the raw passion, or that look — but we just can’t thinking of him.

His new single describes his newlywed perfectly. “It’s definitely the relationship I have with my wife.” The couple is expecting their first child together.
