Rumors are swirling that Eddie Murphy is being considered as a host for next year’s Oscars.

Oscar producer Brett Ratner is reportedly in talks with the Academy about the veteran comedian hosting. In the last few months, the producer has been approached with several names for possible hosts but Murphy seems to be his top pick, a source close to the Oscars tells Deadline.com.

Murphy has reportedly shown some interest in the gig as well but is yet to confirm the rumor.
