Ron Artest joins "Dancing with the Stars," but no Black female celebs were tapped.
The season 13 cast of “Dancing with the Stars” was announced this morning, and Los Angeles Lakers star Ron Artest is set to dance his six-foot seven-inch body across your TV screen.
He’ll be joining Nancy Grace, Ricki Lake, Chaz Bono, and many more.
Sadly, there’ll be few celebs of color this season. Besides Artest, there’s “All My Children” actor and Iraq war veteran, J.R. Martinez. Much to our surprise, no women of color were selected.
In seasons past Black female celebs have garnered high ratings and proved to be crowd favorites. Think Wendy Williams, Brandy, Niecy Nash, Mya, Toni Braxton, Laila Ali, Vivica A. Fox and so on. It’s a shame we won’t get to see one of us this time around.
