The highly-anticipated New Edition three-part miniseries is picking up steam and a handful of familiar faces have been added to the cast.
Among those recently announced to join the cast are Wood Harris, Duane Martin, Tank and Faizon Love. Harris, most known for his roles in The Wire, Remember The Titans, Paid In Full and The Breaks, will play New Edition’s manager Brook Payne. Love will take on the role of musician Maurice Starr, while Martin and Tank will portray record executives Louil Silas and Jheryl Busby.
Also joining the cast is Empire star Bre-Z (aka “Freda Gatz”), who will play Ricky Bell’s sibling Peanut and actor Michael Rappaport, who will play Gary Evans.
The newest cast members will join an increasingly star-studded bunch that already includes Monica Calhoun, LaLa Anthony, Bryshere Grey, Luke James and Elijah Blake, to name a few. Real Husbands of Hollywood executive producer Jesse Collins is heading up the project, while all members of New Edition have also signed on as co-producers.
