Beloved former “Soul Train” host Don Cornelius was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence late Friday, according to a report on Saturday by the Associated Press.
The 72-year-old producer was taken to jail after someone called the police to his Hollywood Hills home. Police have yet to identify the victim. Cornelius was booked on felony domestic violence and released after posting a $50,000 bail. A court date is scheduled for next month.
Cornelius started the hit television show “Soul Train” in 1970 to display Black music and culture, introducing legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Barry White and Marvin Gaye.
