Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard is no longer flexing his muscles for “Iron Man 2.” The news comes after the actor said he had been thrilled about continuing his role. But after negotiations between the actor and Marvel Studios broke down over financial differences, he decided to move on from the role. In comes his “Crash” costar Don Cheadle to take his place. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cheadle will step into the silver armor suit that Howard left behind as Iron Man’s sidekick War Machine.
In the movie, Howard was set to return as Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark/Iron Man’s best friend. In an interview with MTV, Howard said he was preparing for the role by working out “like a demon.”
“Iron Man 2” is set for release May 7, 2010.
