A court ordered former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer’s father, Bernard Spitzer, 84, to pay more than $1.3 million in penalties for discriminating against several Black employees. According to the Wall Street Journal, the elder Spitzer claimed during the trial that while he wasn’t accountable for the dismissal of a doorman and three porters from the luxury Manhattan building he owned in 1999, he was sure that being Black did play into the decision.
