We snuck into Grandma’s recipe box and took this little gem that we’re glad to share with you! Sausage, carrots, and potatoes sauteed to perfection with brown sugar and honey. Now that’s got grandma written all over it.
Ingredients: 1 pkg. Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage 2 cups fresh baby carrots 2 sweet potatoes, peeled, cut into 1 inch pieces 1/3 cup packed brown sugar cup water 3 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons real maple syrup 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 can (8 ounces) pineapple chunks, drained
Directions: Cut sausage into 1″ slices; set aside. Place carrots and sweet potatoes in a medium saucepan; cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook 10-15 minutes or until tender; drain. Cook sausage in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat for 4-5 minutes, turning frequently until lightly browned. Add brown sugar, water, honey, syrup and salt to skillet; cook and stir until bubbly. Stir in drained carrots, sweet potatoes and pineapple.
