Lifetime’s new reality show “Dance Moms,” has quickly become a huge hit, and for good reason! Chronicling the lives of a group of elite tween dancers (and their way over-the-top mamas) at Pittsburgh’s Abby Lee Miller dance company, the show is a beyond-juicy guilty pleasure.

But Wednesday night’s episode introduced squirm-worthy racial politics into the backstage catfighting. The only Black child in the class, Nia, was given a solo routine in which she had to dress in Spandex animal print and an afro wig. The song she performed to was called “LaQueefa.”

Understandably, Nia’s mom, Holly, was deeply disturbed by the stereotypical dance — as were we. Let us know your thoughts! Would you allow your child to dance this routine?
