Common's AMC drama, "Hell on Wheels," gets picked up for a second season.
Common’s hit Western, “Hell on Wheels,” has been picked up for a second season according to The Hollywood Reporter.
After debuting in November to an impressive 4.4M viewers, AMC has decided to continue their adventure into the wild west with the conscious rapper.
“Hell on Wheels” is the fifth of six original AMC series to go beyond the “freshman” season. The season finale is set or January 15th.
The news is perhaps a belated Christmas gift for Common, whose album “The Dreamer/The Believer” was released last week with a little drama. Maya Angelou spoke out about Common’s usage of the n-word on a track she appeared on.
Since then, they’ve squashed their beef. Angelou says, “I don’t think the word ‘disappointment’ quite makes it. I was surprised. I know Common is brilliant. He may, in fact, be close enough to be called a genius. I’m not sure. I know that we’re all in process, and young artists are in process.”
