Colin Kaepernick’s “perilous fight” hasn’t been in vain.
Multiple sports teams and players, from high school to professional, have kneeled in solidarity with Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest, which began in the wake of multiple deaths of Black men and women at the hands of police. And now, TIME magazine is writing in solidarity with him as they’ve chosen the San Francisco quarterback to cover its latest issue.
A spokesperson for the publication said the 28-year-old football player was the obvious choice for the cover after they decided to “[explore’ the nationwide debate happening around national anthem protests.”
