Olympic gold and silver medalist Cullen Jones is passionate about swimming. ESSENCE.com caught up with the athlete to chat about taking silver at the 2012 Summer Olympics and what it’s like to swim under pressure.
When asked if he’s ready for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janerio, he replied, “I want gold! Rio is the next step.” Looking beyond the Olympics he’s working hard to bring the drowning rate down with his initiative, Make a Splash, and has helped give swim lessons to over 1.3M kids.
