On May 20th, Braxton will publish Unbreak My Heart, a memoir in which she will discuss everything from raising an autistic child, to battling lupus to selling millions of records. • Lee Daniels says he could care less if his latest film, The Butler, is recognized with awards. TMZ caught up with the director at LAX and he said, “…we don’t do it for the awards, we do it for the art.” The Butler was virtually shut out from any Academy Award nominations. [TMZ]
• Tyra Banks’ Disney movie, Life Size, is getting the sequel treatment. The former super model confirmed the news this weekend. “I have a meeting today to go over the script,” said Banks. “I swear! I don’t think it’ll be out until probably 2014, but I’m guessing—it could be late 2014 or 2015. But it will be back—Life Size will be back, better than ever.” [E! News]
• Historical drama 12 Years a Slave won the trophy for best picture at the Producers Guild of America Awards this weekend. The film won in a first-ever tie with Gravity. It’s the latest in a long list of wins for the film including the Golden Globe for best motion picture. [Slash Film]
