• Today is a sad day in the world of television. After five seasons and 613 episodes, Private Practice, starring Taye Diggs and more, will come to an end. The show’s creator Shonda Rhimes broke the news via WhoSay. “There was a lot of discussion and debate but, in the end, the guys at the network and the studio and I all decided that Private Practice was reaching its finishing line,” wrote Rhimes. “Creatively, we are all extremely proud of the show and especially proud of this season—which you will all soon discover is a creative renaissance. It’s heartbreaking to end. Truly.” [WhoSay]
• Wyclef Jean is turning his attention to acting these days. The singer landed a recurring role on ABC’s Nashville. Jean will play the head of a music label on the series. There’s no word on when he will make his debut. [Hollywood Reporter]
• Nick Cannon announced that he’s producing a sequel to his teen comedy, Drumline. In addition, he’s working on a TV show for VH1. He tweeted the news, “Spoiler Alert: I’m not the main character. I’m too damn old! New class! I’m getting my behind the camera on! But I will be in the movie.” [Twitter]
• Evander Holyfield is not retiring after all. The boxing legend, who announced his retirement earlier this month, now says he’s ready to jump back into the ring. The boxer told TMZ he will fight again, but is unsure of how long he has left in the sport. “I don’t know… one day at a time,” he said. Holyfield reportedly wants to compete for the Heavyweight Championship. [TMZ]
