Sanaa Lathan Will Star in ‘Flyy Girl’ Movie Adaptation

Sanaa Lathan is set to star in and executive produce Omar Tyree’s Flyy Girl, based on the famous book trilogy. Sanaa, who will play the character Tracy Ellison, spoke about the upcoming project saying, “So many people have grown up on this series and I’m looking forward to bringing Tracy Ellison’s story to life through film.” [Variety]

Loretta Lynch Has Been Officially Sworn Into Office

Finally! Loretta Lynch is officially our U.S. Attorney General. Sworn in with a Bible owned by Frederick Douglass, Lynch takes her official title after being involved in high-profile issues such as the Baltimore riots. Lynch is the first Attorney General to use Twitter. She took to her account Wednesday saying, “Hello, Twitter! Excited to join the conversation and share updates with you. U.S. Treasury to Put Woman on $10 Bill by 2020

Ladies first! U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew announced that the $10 bill is being redesigned to feature a woman’s portrait. The new bill, which currently features the nation’s first Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton, will debut in 5 years to coincide with the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote. The Treasury has not decided who will receive the honor of appearing on the bill and says they are open to “ideas, symbols, and designs for the new 10.” Use the hashtag #TheNew10 to weigh in. Taraji P. Henson Opens Up About Her Hustle

In a cover story for Allure, Taraji P. Henson confirms what we’ve already suspected: she’s always been a hustler. In the interview, Henson reveals that during her college days she was a hairdresser, charging $20 per person. “I knew how to hustle and make money,” she said. “We used to do wet sets. I bought a hooded dryer and I had my box of rollers. I could have gone to jail, I had no license whatsoever. But it was just my friends. They were like ‘Girl, hook me up.'” [HuffingtonPost]
