Good Morning America anchor, Robin Roberts, will be honored by Diane Von Furstenberg’s fourth annual DVF Awards with the Lifetime Leadership Award. The ceremony will be held at the United Nations on April 5. Roberts returned to work in mid February after five months off to recuperate from a bone marrow transplant for her blood disorder, myelodysplastic syndrome. [People]

• Yesterday, Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio was elected Pope. President Obama sent his warm wishes to the newly named Pope Francis. He urged millions of Hispanic Americans to join him in praying for the new pontiff. President Obama also looks forward to working with Pope Francis to “promote peace, security and dignity of people of all faiths.” [Associated Press]
