Chris Brown has been sentenced to 131 more days in jail after admitting that he violated probation. The singer, who has been in federal custody since mid-March, admitted to his involvement in an altercation that occurred in Washington, D.C. last year. Originally sentenced to 365 days in custody, Brown was given credit for 234 days spent in rehab and jail. Brown faces a misdemeanor assault charge for the altercation. [Vibe]
Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs is now officially Dr. Combs. The media mogul received an honorary doctorate degree in humanities from Howard University Saturday. Combs also delivered the commencement speech receiving a standing ovation and “Diddy” chants from the Class of 2014. Diddy took to Twitter and Instagram before the ceremony to express his excitement saying, “Of all the amazing moments God has blessed me with, this has to be one of The Greatest…” [E!News]
Whoopi Goldberg is putting on her executive producer hat for a new reality series starring her daughter, Alex Martin. The docu-series will follow Alex as she tries to reinvent herself personally and professionally as she navigates relationships with her husband, best friends and a daughter who has just moved back home with a fiance and newborn baby. Whitney Houston’s estate is suing CPMG Mandham LLC, the company that sold the star’s New Jersey home in 2013. The estate claims that although the deal was for the house only, the company is holding several of Houston’s personal belonging hostage in the home, even changing the locks and chaining the gates. The estate is asking for her things immediately plus damages. [TMZ]
