- U.S. Representative Jesse L. Jackson Jr. is being treated for mood disorder. Over the last several weeks rumors have been swirling as to the condition that’s left him missing in action. “The congressman is receiving intensive medical treatment at a residential treatment facility,” said his staff in a statement. “He is responding positively to treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.” His staff continues to deny the treatment is related to drug or alcohol abuse. - Target is responding to claims that they’re not carrying Frank Ocean’s new album because he is bisexual. The company released a statement to clear up rumors. “The claims made about Target’s decision to not carry the Frank Ocean album are absolutely false,” read the statement. “Our assortment decisions are based on a number of factors, including guest demand.” The company reportedly won’t be carrying the album because it went digital first. - F.A.M.U. President James Ammons has resigned. The news comes a day after the parents of Robert Champion, a drum major who died in a hazing incident, included the university in their wrongful death lawsuit. His resignation takes effect on October 11. [The Root]
