See why we’re having a cheesy omelet with our brew:
• President Barack Obama was sworn in before the public yesterday using two very special Bibles. One belonged to President Abraham Lincoln and the other to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. After his luncheon with members of Congress, Obama said he was thankful to have the opportunity to use MLK’s Bible on such an important day. “I had the great privilege that the Bible we used was his Bible and they asked for it to be inscribed,” said Obama. • Former Secretary of State Condeleeza Rice can add journalist to her resume. The political power house joined CBS News as a contributor. She made her grand debut during Sunday’s broadcast of Face the Nation. According to a statement released by CBS, Rice will “use her insight and vast experience to explore issues facing America at home and abroad.” [Politco]
• The 2013 Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans continues to get bigger and bigger. Stevie Wonder will join Gary Clark Jr. for a smashing concert at the Bud Light Hotel. It’s just one concert happening that weekend in addition to performances by Pitbull and Flo Rida. Alicia Keys will sing the National Anthem at the big event while Beyoncé will deliver the half-time show. [Rolling Stone]
•Bobbi Kristina is reportedly the owner of a 2013 Lexus IS 250. She apparently purchased the car right before Christmas. It’s her second vehicle in as many months. She smashed up her black Camaro after colliding with numerous trees on an embankment in late November. [TMZ]
