In an op-ed for TIME, former NBA superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has come out in support of Rachel Dolezal, a White former NAACP president who has been passing as Black for years, telling everyone to “let Rachel Dolezal be as Black as she wants to be.” He argues that you “can’t deny” the work she has done for the Black community and that there’s no such thing as race. “The fight for equality is too important to all Americans to lose someone as passionate as she is and who has accomplished as much as she has.” [TIME]
