Mathew Knowles Claims He’s Working on a New Destiny’s Child Project

This could be the best news we’ve heard all year! Mathew Knowles, father of Beyonce and former manager of Destiny’s Child, recently admitted that he is working on “a few” projects with the group and hopes that a reunion tour or album is a possibility. “I still manage the ladies,” he said in an interview. “I’m hopeful that within the next two to three years, we’ll see something major come from it.” We’re crossing our fingers and our toes! Tracy Morgan Joins the Cast of Upcoming Comedy ‘Fist Fight’

First, Tracy Morgan made his triumphant return to the spotlight—literally—at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, and now the actor, who is recovering from a serious car accident that left him in a coma last summer, has signed on to star in his first feature film. The former 30 Rock actor is gearing up to star alongside Ice Cube and Charlie Day in the new comedy, Fist Fight. No other details about the film have been released yet. [Variety]

Vanessa Williams Lands Recurring Role on ‘The Good Wife’

Vanessa Williams has a new acting gig. The multi-talented actress/singer has landed a recurring role on CBS’ hit show, The Good Wife. Williams will star as Courtney Boalt, a “self-made businesswoman” who offers her support and expertise to Peter Florrick’s (Chris Noth) presidential campaign. Don’t miss the season premiere Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS. [Entertainment Weekly]

Anthony Anderson Wants POTUS to Guest Star on ‘Black-ish’

President Obama could be going from the White House to the Johnson House! Black-ish star Anthony Anderson revealed that the producers of Black-ish are hoping to snag a very special guest star: President Obama. “[The Obamas] watch the show,” Anderson said to E! News. “They love it. We know them, so we’ve been dealing with them and their people, and hopefully, they’ll say yes.” Wonder what that episode would be about? [Jezebel]

Cissy Houston to be Honored at Gospel Image Awards

A gospel great is getting the recognition that she deserves. Cissy Houston, famed gospel singer and mother of the late Whitney Houston, will be honored at this weekend’s Gospel Image Awards, where’s she’ll be receiving the lifetime achievement award. “Miss Cissy has worked for the gospel industry for a very, very long time, and she’s very deserving of this award,” show executives said in a statement. Jordan Peele to Direct Horror Film

Well, this is a side of Jordan Peele we haven’t seen before! The actor, who is famously one-half of the comedy duo Key & Peele, is prepping to write and direct his very first horror film, Get Out. The spooky flick follows a Black man who visits his girlfriend’s family’s estate (haunted house, perhaps?). Peele, who has been open about his passion for writing and directing horror movies, said that the film will also tackle race in America. We can’t wait! [A.V. Club]

‘Legends: OWN at the Apollo’ to Air on OWN in Four-Part Special

Now is your chance to get an intimate look at some of the biggest names in music history at one of the most iconic venues. OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced that on Oct. 24, it would be airing Legends: OWN at the Apollo, a four-part special that will feature singers like Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson and  Earth, Wind & Fire performing at Harlem’s Apollo Theater. The special will also feature interviews with the artists on what the historic theater means to them. Catch the first airing Saturday, Oct. 24 at 10 p.m. EDT. [Indie Wire]
