• The 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced and LL Cool L and N.W.A. are once again back on the list. They join Chic, Deep Purple and The Meters as returning acts from the 2013 nomination process. New acts to make the cut include Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates and Yes. “This year’s nominees represent the broad definition of ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ and include an array of artists whose fans are deeply passionate about the possibility of induction,” says Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation president and CEO Joel Peresman. The finalists for this year’s induction will be selected by December 10th—with the annual ceremony set for April 10th in New York. [USA Today]
• Oprah could be landing yet another big-time interview. She’s reportedly trying to book Lamar Odom for a sit-down interview. According to sources, Odom has been hesitant to do any type of interview, but may be willing to sit down with Lady O. If he agrees, they’ll talk in depth about his troubled marriage, drug use and basketball career. [TMZ]
• Yesterday, New Jersey elected its first Black senator, former Newark Mayor Cory Booker. The special election was held to fill the late Senator Frank Lautenberg’s seat. Booker tweeted after election results, “‘It is not titles that honor, but people who honor titles.’ Thank you New Jersey. • Paula Patton admitted to Glamour that she’s a bad girl, and it’s all Robin Thicke’s fault! “He ruined me!” laughed Patton. “Gosh, I hope I’m still a good girl and a bad girl at the same time.
