Halle Berry has launched a new company called 606 Films, named after the anti-paparazzi bill that she helped get signed into law last fall. Isaiah Washington is set to return to Grey’s Anatomy as the guest star for a May episode. The cameo comes seven years after Washington, who played the original Dr. Preston Burke, was fired from the ABC medical drama amid on-set clashes and public anti-gay remarks. Washington’s character will return to help say goodbye to one of Grey’s main characters, and his former love interest on the show, Cristina Yang, played by Sandra Oh. Grey’s mastermind Shonda Rhimes said that his return is important to round out Christina’s journey. “He gives her story that full circle moment we need to properly say goodbye to our beloved Cristina Yang.” said Rhimes. Idris Elba will lend his voice to Disney classic, The Jungle Book, as the man-eating tiger Shere Khan. The Luther star will voice the life-long enemy of the main character, Mowgli, an orphaned boy raised by animals. Ron Howard has reportedly been tapped to direct. [HollywoodReporter]
A Georgia woman has filed a lawsuit against Tyler Perry claiming that the idea for Madea Gets a Job was hers. Lisa Daniels, 47, filed the civil action on February 5 in a Georgia superior courthouse. “I was the sole creator of a literary piece ‘Madea Gets a Job’, and this literary piece was featured in the form of a Tyler Perry play,” Daniels claims. The civil case was handwritten because Daniels claims that she is too poor to afford the cost to file a civil case. She is seeking no less than 40 percent of the earning from the movie. [Radar]
