Coffee Talk: Chaka Khan Selected for Apollo Hall of Fame

• Chaka Khan will be inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place on Monday, June 10 during its annual spring gala concert. So far, Patti LaBelle and Mary J. Blige are confirmed to give tributes to the iconic star. This year marks Khan’s 40th anniversary in the music business. “I am honored that the Apollo is inducting me into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame,” says Khan. “The Apollo Theater is an American institution and is world-renowned for developing, nurturing, and creating talent for decades. The Apollo Theater has supported my career and now they are a part of honoring my legacy. I am looking forward to the celebration.”

• Fantasia will return to the stage that made her a star. The singer will perform her latest single, “Lose to Win,” next Thursday on American Idol. Fantasia won season three in 2003. Her latest album, Side Effects of You, will hit stores on April 23. [Entertainment Weekly]
