Closet Envy: Desiree Rogers

Former White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers has an effortless cool. During her time with the Obama camp, she personified a fresh and modern approach just as equally in her wardrobe choices as she did in her work with the First Family. Whether she's in work mode with a sleek skirt suit or gabbing with Anna Wintour in the front row at New York Fashion Week -- her look is always polished and put together, with a hint of modern... Here's what you had to say: Staci commented via Facebook: "A woman of class and style." Melba wrote via Facebook: "Despite her exit from the White House, she has remained poised, headstrong and positive."

Former White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers has an effortless cool. During her time with the Obama camp, she personified a fresh and modern approach just as equally in her wardrobe choices as she did in her work with the First Family. Whether she’s in work mode with a sleek skirt suit or gabbing with Anna Wintour in the front row at New York Fashion Week — her look is always polished and put together, with a hint of modern. She leaves out the stuffiness of traditional business attire by choosing shapely fabrics and perfect accessories. Although her time in the White House came to an end shortly after an uninvited couple crashed the 2009 State Dinner on her watch, she maintained her fashion cool as she headed from politics to publishing this past June to consult for the struggling Johnson Publishing Company. (Video: Rogers on new job and her tenure at the White House.) Take a peek at Rogers’ working woman wardrobe, done right. Desiree Rogers will be a featured speaker at the upcoming ESSENCE Women’s Conference on November 4, 2010.
