NBA star Chris Paul may not be a native of NOLA, but the New Orleans Hornets point guard showed where his heart is when he and Chase Bank partnered to donate $1 million to create an afterschool program for the city’s kids. The CP3 Afterschool Zone is set to work with local schools, libraries, recreation centers and other facilities to provide dynamic afterschool grams that tap into each child’s interests, from arts and crafts and music to sports and help with homework. Both Paul and Chase are pitching in $500,000 each so that the children pay nothing. Well played, Chris.
