Chance The Rapper is big fan of Marshall, the new biopic about the first black Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall starring Chadwick Boseman

And the Chicago native wants everyone to see it.

The Grammy-nominated rapper sent out a tweet Friday announcing that he had bought out all the Friday shows at two Chicago movie theaters — totaling 19 local showings.

“Go see Marshall today for free,” he wrote.

And he had one more surprise for moviegoers. The rapper hinted that he might be going to watch the 3pm show at one of the two theaters. It turns out that the surprise was an entire discussion panel with the cast of the film, including Boseman and Sterling K. Brown. They flew out to Chicago specifically for the Q&A.

Just finished a surprise Q & A with the cast of #MarshallMovie who flew in today just to speak to some lucky movie goers on 87th... and one more theatre tonight 👀👀 pic.twitter.com/5xWpQQ4Yrg

This is not the first time Chance has bought out a theater for a movie. He did the same thing in February when he similarly bought every ticket to a day’s showings of Get Out, the directorial horror debut of Jordan Peele. Chance also got the opportunity to interview Peele about the film.

Marshall was a civil rights icon who was the grandson of slaves. The movie explores a time early in his legal career when he defended a black man accused of raping a white woman.
