Black Girls Code
Google and Cartoon Network partner with Black Girls Code and Made With Code to educate teenage girls on the importance of coding.
Cartoon Network and Google are encouraging girls to code.
The companies recently teamed up with Black Girls Code, along with Made with Code and Mayor Jannquell Peters, to show 45 teenage girls the importance of coding. Female executives from Google and Cartoon Network showed the young women how coding could help achieve their goals and dreams, encouraging them to use coding as a way to explore their creativity.
Christina Miller, President and GM of Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang, told Rolling Out, “This day is exactly why we at Cartoon Network committed ourselves to encouraging kids to explore coding and the intersection of creativity and technology. We know how important this is, and that is why we want to be part of the community who helps all kids learn the language of coding to build their futures – and frankly – all of our futures.”
