Birmingham’s 62-year-old mayor, Larry Langford, was arrested Monday on federal charges that he falsified tax filings, laundered money, conspired and bribed millions of dollars, CNN reports. The 101-count indictment stems from his steering big accounts to the business of friends while he was county commissioner from 2002 to 2006. The FBI wants each man to forfeit $7.6 million.
