Bill Cosby has resigned from Temple University’s board of trustees.

In a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter, Cosby says he has “always been proud” of his association with his alma mater.

“I have always wanted to do what would be in the best interests of the university and its students. As a result, I have tendered my resignation from the Temple University Board of Trustees,” he said.

Last week, Cosby also resigned as co-chairman of The University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s $300 million fundraising campaign. Cosby had received a master’s degree and a doctorate in education from UMass. The Berklee College of Music announced it would no longer offer a scholarship named after Cosby, and High Point University removed him from its board of advisors.

The comedian’s lawyer Marty Singer has called the rape allegations against Cosby “unsubstantiated.” To date, 20 women have publicly accused Cosby of sexual assault.
