Beyoncé and Jay-Z lost a legal battle to trademark their 10-month-old daughter’s name.

According to MyFoxBoston, a Boston event planning company has been using the name, Blue Ivy Events, since 2009. The couple filed their trademark application at the start of February, weeks after Blue Ivy was born to protect outsiders from benefiting from their child’s popularity.

Immediately following her birth, Chicago designer Joseph MBeh tried to trademark “Blue Ivy Carter NYC” without their permission and failed.

The news station reports it wouldn’t be unusual if event planning company began to pursue an agreement with the famous couple.

It appears there may be still hope yet.
