Beyonce is one of thirty-nine artists lending their vocals to the Philippines relief album, Songs for the Philippines.
Some of music’s biggest names, like Madonna and Alicia Keys, join Queen Bey on the charity album. “I Was Here,” Beyonce’s soulful song about making a difference in the world, will appear on the 39 track LP.
“It says, ‘I want to leave my footprints in the sands of time’ and it basically is all of our dreams,” said Beyonce. “And that’s leaving our mark on the world. I feel like we all want to know that our life meant something.”
All proceeds from the digital album will be donated to the Philippines Red Cross and their Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts. Songs for the Philippines is now available for purchase on iTunes and can also be streamed on iTunes Radio.
