Beyoncé tops this year’s Time 100 Most Influential People list.
It is hard to deny the mark that the superstar has made not only in the music world, but in business as well; changing the way we think about album marketing with the surprise release of her latest album, Beyoncé.
The “Pretty Hurts” singer sits in the “Titans” section of the list alongside Pharrell Williams, Hillary Clinton and Jeff Bezos.
Profiled by Sheryl Sandberg, the Facebook COO and founder of Leanin.org says, “Beyoncé doesn’t just sit at the table. She builds a better one,”
She continues: “In the past year, Beyoncé has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity. And her answer to the question, ‘What would you do if you weren’t afraid?’ appears to be ‘Watch me. I’m about to do it.’ Then she adds, ‘You can, too.’”
The cover star opened up saying that her biggest influences have been her mother and daughter, “Becoming a mother, looking at my daughter in her eyes made me into a woman. It made me very strong,” said Beyoncé.
Also featured on Time’s most influential list are President Barack Obama, Kerry Washington, Steve McQueen, Ertharin Cousin, Eric Holder, Jason Collins, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele and Serena Williams.
