Ayesha Curry has been mesmerizing her social media followers with her food photos for years, and now she’s officially made the leap to cookbook author with her debut book of recipes, The Seasoned Life.
And it appears her skills in the kitchen have rubbed off on her NBA superstar husband Stephen Curry. “The first time he cooked for me was many many years ago when he was in college and it was disgusting,” she tells PEOPLE. “It was salty cream of wheat, a burnt bagel, burnt eggs and a garnish of Gushers. He’s gotten much better; he has kitchen confidence now.”

On Tuesday, the mother-of-two celebrated the release — with her NBA superstar husband, Stephen Curry, and both of their parents by her side— at a launch party at the Williams-Sonoma store in New York City.

“It feels like I birthed quintuplets,” Ayesha says. “I worked so hard on my little baby and now it’s being born and everyone gets to enjoy it.”

As crowds gathered in the store for her first-ever book signing, Stephen posed for pictures alongside the cover, showing his adoration with a kiss.

Proving his true commitment to the cause, the Golden State Warriors point guard has even been cooking recipes from the book himself.

He cooked again! 😍 I could get used to this. My book is for the fellas too! I made it as easy as possible so if you've never cooked anything a day in your life the book is for you too. Less than a month before release! Ahhh! Anywho thanks babe! It was delicious. 😘😘😘 #theseasonedlife

Ayesha has also seen support from other stars, including fellow food lover and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen, who tweeted her congratulations on Tuesday.

“She’s so sweet,” Ayesha says of Teigen. “What I’ve learned from her personality and character is to just live your life and go for it, and who cares what people think?” Regarding their mutual inclination to be outspoken on twitter, she laughs: “I think we relate on that level.”

The culinary guru has also landed her own Food Network show, Ayesha’s Homemade, and has forged a friendship with one of its most well-known stars Rachael Ray, who she considers a “mentor.”

Though she says that having her own show is a “dream come true,” she admits that it’s not as easy as it looks. “It’s really hard because it’s a tedious process and everything has to be perfect, and my motto in life is nothing is perfect.”

The Seasoned Life is out now, and Ayesha’s Homemade premieres Oct. 22 at 12 p.m. EST on Food Network.
