In one month, a 22 percent decrease in foreclosures in the 13-county metro area was reported by Alpharetta-based Equity Depot. However, in this last year, there were 97,339 notices—almost a 50 percent jump from last year’s record of 79,484, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Five other months this year had more notices than October, Equity Depot data shows. Those foreclosures listed in October will go on auction in November.—JG
