There are beauty moments, and there are beauty moments. When supermodel/mogul/”The Fashion Show” host Iman swanned down the BET Honors red carpet last Friday, it was one for the books.
Sure, she was swathed in a killer J. Mendel gown and stole, but her makeup brought us to our knees; Kohl-smudged eyes, dewy skin and luminous, nude lips — it was perfection. We went right to the source, legendary makeup artist Sam Fine, to get the lowdown on how he created Iman’s stunning look.
FACE: “After applying concealer, I used Iman Cosmetics Luminous Foundation to even her skintone and add a radiant glow to her skin. I applied bronzer near her hairline and onto her cheekbones, and layered Afterglow Bronzer over the apples of the cheeks for a pop of color.
EYE: “Iman loves a smokey eye, and I love the drama it brings! Using the Iman Eye-con Collection, I swept golden brown shades across the entire lid and underneath the eye. I finished up with false lashes, two coats of black mascara, and eyeliner along the inner rim.
LIPS: “I wanted the eyes to stand out, so I chose a nude lip. I began with a brown lip pencil two shades deeper than Iman’s complexion, then followed with Bare Bronze Luxury Lip Stain and a sweep of Crystal Luxury Lip Shimmer to add lustrous shine.”
