Anita Baker’s tour is happening!

On Monday, the singer announced via Twitter that she’d be coming out of retirement for a farewell tour this year.

As confirmed by her team, the tour will commence March 14, 2018, in Jacksonville. The tour continues with stops on March 16 in Orlando and March 18 in Miami.

Baker shared a little of why she planned to go on tour via Twitter, saying she wanted to celebrate her 60th birthday — on Jan 26 — with fans, all year.

In the released statement, it notes that the “Sweet Love” singer wants to express gratitude to “her second generation of millennial fans that keep her name trending on Twitter, have viewed her videos on YouTube more than 20 million times and have streamed her more on Spotify than had bought her platinum albums. Kendrick Lamar, Lalah Hathaway and Andre 3000 claim her as their musical inspiration and seek her out.”

She added that she has a deep gratitude for her diehard fan base that propelled her to eight Grammy awards, seven albums, and six world tours.

Additional dates will be posted as they go on sale— so there’s hope to see Baker in more cities.
