Alicia Keys visited a Philippine air force base today to bring hope to hundreds of eastern province evacuees devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.
Before her concert tonight at the MOA Arena in Manilla, Keys stopped at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City, Phillipines for about a half an hour to chat with children and distribute crayons and coloring books.
The Girl On Fire singer told the Philippine Star, “music has a way of lifting your spirit and that’s what I hope to do for the Filipino people.”
She has also encouraged fans to donate to the victims of the November 8th typhoon.
Keys is a noted philanthropist and serves as a co-founder and global ambassador for Keep A Child Alive.
