Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz Welcome a Baby Boy

Singer Alicia Keys and hubby Swizz Beatz welcomed a baby at a New York City hospital last night. Reps for the couple confirmed to ESSENCE.com that Keys, 29, and Beatz, 32, “joyfully welcomed” their first son together, whom they named Egypt Daoude Dean. Beatz has three other children “that are ecstatic about their new brother,” added their reps. Friend Mary J. Blige couldn’t hold in her excitement. “I’m So excited 2 Congratulate my brother @ therealswizzz and @Alicia keys on there (sic) New, baby, boy!” she tweeted. The proud new dad followed with his own joyful tweet. “I’m so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!” he wrote. The couple recently tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony in the Mediterranean this past summer. Congratulations to Alicia and Swizz!
