After an 88-year-old gunman went on a shooting rampage last week at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., which resulted in the death of security guard Stephen Tyrone Johns, 39, Attorney General Eric Holder is demanding tougher hate crimes laws, according to the Associated Press. Holder told the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs that this killing as well as the recent murder of an abortion doctor in Kansas has only positioned “violence masquerading as political activism.” Holder was adamant that he plans to use the Justice Department to continue to protect the rights of the people of this country granted under the Constitution.
