A biopic on former Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall is currently in the works and actress Keesha Sharp is the latest to be added to the cast.
News of the film, titled Marshall, being put together began circulating last year just before the announcement that 42 and Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman had landed the lead role as Marshall himself.

Just weeks after it was confirmed that The People V. O.J. Simpson star Sterling K. Brown was tapped for a role in the project earlier this month, it has now been revealed that Sharp will also join the cast to star opposite Boseman as Thurgood Marshall’s wife Vivien “Buster” Burey, according to an exclusive report from The Wrap.
Prior to the upcoming role, Keesha’s most recent work has included appearances on The People V. OJ Simpson and a recurring role on American Crime Story. Many viewers may also recall her role in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? film and her memorable role as a recurring character on Girlfriends.
Marshall will tell the story of Thurgood Marshall in his early life as an attorney, with a particular focus on a career-defining case that ultimately played a significant role in his appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The film is set to begin production later this month.
